Player Avatar: Not so much a character as a constant, silent presence, the player's avatar accompanies Leonard throughout the journey but never utters a word nor influences the action directly, other than in battle.

Scardigne: Miu's bodyguard, who joins the party to protect her.

Miu: A princess who accompanies the party.

Caesar: Capable of wielding the same mystical powers as Leonard, Caesar can transform himself into the powerful Dragon Knight.

Eldore: Elderly mentor figure for the party.

Yulie: Leonard's childhood friend and secondary love interest of Leonard.

Cisna: Damsel in distress and primary love interest of Leonard.

Leonard: Hero of the first game, and wielder of Wizel, the titular White Knight.

The full cast of characters is as follows: Characters: Leonard and Cisna return in the sequel, along with many other cast members from the first game and a few new faces. The story of WKCII picks up directly after the events of the first game, in which Princess Cisna was kidnapped by malevolent forces intent on (what else?) world domination and had to be rescued by Leonard, a humble barkeep with dormant mystical powers. When players start up the game for the first time, and they have a 'clear data' save file from the first game, they will be given a choice: to start from the beginning of the first game with all their items but resetting to a Level 1 character, or starting from the ending of the first game and having their character reset to below Level 35. One reason for the inclusion of the first game was that players would have to have beaten the first game in order to play the sequel, but this requirement was removed in the North American version.

Included on the disc is a new-and-improved edition of the first White Knight Chronicles, which has been 're-developed' alongside its sequel. Again, as in the original, this character will be used most prominently in the game's online play, dubbed Georama, and will serve little purpose in the single player campaign. If a save file from the first game is present, it also allows players to import their character from the prequel, including all of their money, equipment, and guild rankings. Like the first game, WKCII allows the player to create a custom avatar which will inhabit the world alongside the named characters. It was released in Europe on June 10th 2011, and September 13th 2011 in North America. A direct sequel to White Knight Chronicles, it was released in Japan on July 8th 2010.
